Rice Facial Scrub

When added to a facial scrub, rice flour works as a natural exfoliant. The tiny, smooth particles help remove dead skin cells, dirt, and excess oil from the surface of the skin without being as harsh as ingredients like crushed nut shells or large sugar crystals. This makes it suitable for many skin types, including those with sensitive skin. For the maker, this scrub is an emulsified one , using fixed oils that will not clog the pores. There is no water in this formulation. We will still include a broad spectrum preservative as it is anticipated that the end user will introduce water into the jar at some point.

This emulsified Body scrub uses the emulsified oils of coconut, argan and grape seed oil. The formulation uses a small proportion of water unlike other emulsified scrub recipes. This means that a broad spectrum preservative is absolutely necessary. In our scrubs, sugar is used extensively as it is easily accessible, however, this can always be altered or adjusted by using coffee grains, jojoba beads, baking soda, apricot seeds, depending on how robust you need your scrub to be. This recipe should make about 3 lbs of product. It can be scaled.
